Texas State Inspection Failed Texas State Inspection Twice, Replaced EGR Valve And NOx Levels Are Still Too High. What To Do?

Failed Texas state inspection twice, replaced EGR valve and NOx levels are still too high. What to do? - texas state inspection

I have a 94 mits Galant 2.4 SOHC. Manual. I Moved to Texas from Kentucky, and I'm trying to pass the state control Dang. I replaced the EGR and NOx levels are still high. That is all that keeps me going. The next thing I think, is to replace my cat or O2 sensor. O2 is $ 50, and 70 cats. I have all kinds of money so they really need to choose the right one. Most people tell me to replace the cat, while others tell me that replacing O2. My check engine light is, and when I replaced EGR remained. because the problem does not. the right of my ignition is perfect and the plugs are new and different. A new oil and filter change.

Please help me decide what to do.

Thank you.

  1. Yes, if you read the code to be useful, but it is still to be diagnosed at a later date. You are on the right track in the EGR system is suspicion of a probable for the high levels of NOx, but more often a sensor or maintenance control of the EGR valve is working properly. The O2 sensor, especially the cat looks like a real Longshot.

  2. What is the code in the computer? raises not only the parts in the car, until I discovered the problem. NOx at high temperatures in the combustion chamber are formed, and an engine is running lean, to cause high NOx. know what the code and to refresh.

  4. Have you tried resetting your sensors? Disconnect the battery cables and they collectively hold approximately 10 seconds. Then connect the cable. Lastly, you drive your car for 40 miles. When the engine is easy to check and try again in a store and do to repair it.
